AC06 – APPARATUS Determining heat transmission on protective fabrics exposed to the flame

This test defines a method of comparison of the heat transfer through the materials used for the protective clothing. Principle : a sample oriented horizontally is subject to an incident flux of 80 kW/m2 heat emitted by a flame supplied by the burner placed below it. The heat that passes in the sample is measured by a calorimeter copper disc above the specimen in close contact with the same. The time needed to record an increase in temperature of the calorimeter 24 ° C ± 0.2 ° C is expressed in seconds. The average result of three samples is calculated as an index of heat transfer.
